Md Atiqur Rahman Tipu

Md Atiqur Rahman Tipu is an activist. He was born in Bangladesh, a South-Asian country that is often termed as the ground zero for climatic hazards. He has worked to empower communities in resilience building, low carbon development and created climate clubs in schools and youth clubs for urban youths to bring the youth voices in the climate discussion.

He was vocal in regional Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) platforms on SDGs in Asia-Pacific and represented CSOs in international events on SDG 6, SDG 7 and SDG 13. He has organized climate campaigns, events to create climate awareness both in rural and urban settings, took part in developing civil society networks for climate and environmental justice, transparency of climate financing.

He loves to work with the youth to build a resilient society and developing youth-centric programs. He believes that heavily investing on the development of carbon neutral youth in addition the other climate actions can keep us below 1.5℃ set by Paris Agreement.
