The Calgary Climate Hub welcomes volunteers regardless of their race, religious beliefs, colour, gender, sexual orientation, marital status, physical and mental disability, age, ancestry or place of origin. We are recruiting volunteers for the following Campaigns and roles:
  • The Hub is running multiple advocacy campaigns through 2025 and we need you to make them a success! Campaigns are planned and enacted by volunteers like you - with training and support from Hub organizers. We are looking for volunteers for the following campaigns:

    • Active Transportation (5A) Network

    • Calgary Transit Improvement (CTI)

    • Housing Affordability and Climate Resilience (HACR)

    • Calgary Headwaters Protection and Restoration (CHPR)

  • Join us at the Calgary Climate Hub Events Node and be part of a dynamic team dedicated to organizing impactful events that foster collaboration and drive positive change. We're looking for two (2) dedicated individuals to join the core team at the Calgary Climate Hub Events Node.

    What We Do:

    As a member of the Events Node, you'll play a key role in planning and executing Hub events focused on addressing climate challenges in Calgary. From large-scale gatherings to intimate discussions, we create opportunities for connection, learning, and action.

    Your commitment will involve actively participating in planning meetings, contributing ideas, and taking on specific responsibilities related to event execution. We anticipate members attending monthly meetings, aligning their schedules with the dynamic nature of event planning, and demonstrating flexibility when required.

     

  • Join us at the Calgary Climate Hub Nature Node and be part of an innovative team dedicated to building and promoting nature-based solutions in Calgary. The Nature Node plays a key role in making our Forests for Calgary project possible. We're looking for two (2) dedicated individuals to join the core team at the Calgary Climate Hub Nature Node. 

    What We Do:

    Your commitment will involve actively participating in planning meetings, contributing ideas, and taking on specific responsibilities related to Nature Node events and initiatives. We anticipate members attending monthly meetings, aligning their schedules with the dynamic nature of event planning, and demonstrating flexibility when required

  • Join us at the Calgary Climate Hub Fundraising Node and support the Hub with strengthening our fund development activities and initiatives. We're looking for dedicated individuals to join the core team at the Calgary Climate Hub Fundraising Node.

    What We Do:

    As a member of the Fundraising Node, you will play a key role in supporting fundraising events, identifying donor and sponsorship opportunities, as well as additional activities related to merchandise and memberships. 

    We anticipate members attending monthly meetings and demonstrating flexibility when required. Volunteers interested in joining the Fundraising Node will be contacted towards the end of March. 

  • The Board of Directors is both an operational and governance board. As a young organization, the board is building its governance policies, and processes. The Board is recruiting dynamic and motivated Directors. We are specifically looking for individuals with experience and expertise in fund-raising, human resources, accounting, law, communications, and/or governance. 

  • The Calgary Climate Hub is excited to announce our Citizen Science project – a project that seeks to involve citizens in contributing to the monitoring and stewardship of our Mini Forest projects. Volunteers will be trained in monitoring protocols and will support in engaging Mini Forest communities in monitoring their forests.

    We are looking for 5-10 committed volunteers to be a part of our Citizen Science program. 

    What We Do:

    Volunteers will be trained to identify various organisms and how to monitor the development of Calgary’s Mini Forests in terms of: 

    • Plant Growth & Mortality
    • Soil Permeability & Flood Management

    • Soil Health

    • Biodiversity

    • Human Interactions

     

    This volunteer opportunity requires approximately 4-6 hours per month commitment throughout the 2025 summer and fall seasons, with some additional hours (2-3) required in June for training. If you have any questions about this volunteer opportunity, please connect with [email protected] 

  • We are looking for 3 volunteers to support our Youth Climate Bursary Committee! 


    The Committee will select 5 winners to be awarded the Youth Climate Bursary. This volunteer role requires a minimum 3 hour commitment throughout September.
