Join us for a conversation with Fridays for Future Calgary
A Climate of Change returns for Season 2, Episode 2 September 24 at 7:05 pm.
Welcome to our speaker series about what comes next as it relates to our country, the economic system and the climate crisis once the corona virus has come and gone.
This month our guests are the youth of Fridays for Future Calgary, just in time for Climate Week and the Global Climate Strike on September 25. Every week, dozens of Calgarian youth and other concerned citizens gather outside City Hall to protest for action on climate change.
In August 2018, Swedish Climate Activist Greta Thunberg began the Fridays for Future movement by striking from school outside the Swedish Parliament Building. Now, thousands of youth from around the world join her every week, striking from school to protest the government’s lack of action on the climate crisis. Local youth leaders will share their experiences and ideas for effective advocacy during a pandemic.
