Eco-Elders For Climate Action
Calgary Climate Hub's Eco-Elders for Climate Action is a community initiative that invites seniors concerned about climate change to advocate for meaningful action by our governments to ensure a carbon-neutral future for all generations.
Our Eco-Elders are concerned about the slow pace of policy action on the climate crisis, and understand that senior voices have an important role in discourse and mobilizing both individual and collective action.
As Eco-elders our purpose is to:
- Engage, help inform, and increase awareness among our contemporaries; and where possible garner interest, energy and enthusiasm into action.
- Enable individuals and groups of elders to develop a sense of agency over what we can do, moving from complacency or despair to empowerment and action.
