Join us on August 27th for a creative resistance workshop, for our 5th Art of Protest event led by Slopes Studio!

How is it that the creation of a piece of art, the writing of a chant, the animation of a puppet, can open a conversation about deeper issues that have impact on us all?  Slopes Studio Creative Resistance hopes to demonstrate how the creation of puppets can push a movement forward with positivity and humour. Leave the evening with your own stick puppet and a vision for next steps. Art as protest is limitless for its possibilities.

This workshop will support the Draw The Line, National Day of Action by Seniors for Climate and EcoElders on September 20th.

Slopes Studio is a recently founded creative resistance group based in Calgary using art—and a little puppetry—to oppose coking coal projects in Alberta’s Eastern Slopes. This year, they've been taking their work into public spaces, from parades and town halls to community events. This upcoming workshop offers a foretaste of large-scale puppetry and a chance to share what they have been learning.

Will you come?
