This year the Calgary Climate Hub joined our longtime pals at Bike Calgary as one of their stops on their epic annual Winter Bike Day on Valentines Day and from Karaoke to Live Music to our 'What Do You Love' and Selfie Stations, BOY did we have a blast at this truly all ages party, Bikes and Hearts!
it was, dare we say it, another unseasonably warm February day but we made the most of it, welcoming Winter Bikers from all over the city at our hangout at River Hall along the Bow River pathways!

For our guests we had all sorts of healthy snacks and drinks and less healthy but super-delicious hot chocolate courtesy of event partner Celia from Sustainable Calgary!

This pair of outside-of-the-box thinkers opted for a little whipped cream on their apples and really, who are we to stand in the way of a little innovation?
Calgary's winter bikers had a great time at our selfie station....

...and when we asked them to write a Valentine about what they loved they jumped at the chance!

You've got a stage, you've got some adventurous partiers, you've got a speaker and a couple of mics, what else are you gonna do but kick off a little KARAOKE FUN!!!

(Ok that's not actually Bruce Springsteen up there but it IS a little kid that really wanted to karaoke Ghostbusters which is exactly what he did & then his brother got up and did a tune too and just ask yourself how cool *that* is!)
Our good pal Indigenous artist Curt Young truly inspired us with some spoken word, entertained us and got us dancing with some really GREAT tunes!

Our longtime Hub pal Kae Shummoogum teaches folks all over the world about Clean Air & puts words into ACTION right here in Calgary with his company Gasonics. He'd like you to #StopBurningYourMoney with fossil-fuelled cars & we gave him a booth at Bikes and Hearts to spread the good word!

It took a real team to pull this event together and we had a GREAT one. Event lead Bentley couldn't say enough about this group, how each took a part of it and totally made it their own, saying 'you simply couldn't ask for a better team.'

A special thanks to our great event sponsors and we coudn't have done any of it without support from the City of Calgary and their Downtown in Motion grant!

We've got ALL SORTS of great stuff cooked up for our Downtown Movin' and Groovin' event series and you simply won't want to miss so watch this space!

(A finally a special thanks to our *incredible* volunteer photographer Stephen for all these great shots!)
