CALGARY CLIMATE HUB AGM KEYNOTE SPEAKER

We are pleased to welcome Brian Pincott for a special episode of A Climate of Change. Brian will be addressing our annual general meeting as our keynote speaker, but we're too excited to keep him to ourselves!

Everyone is welcome to attend the AGM to hear about what the Calgary Climate Hub has been up to over the past year. Stay to hear what Brian has to say about the upcoming civic election, the Hub's ENMAX campaign, active transportation, and climate advocacy.

About Brian Pincott:

Brian served three terms as Calgary City Councillor for Ward 11 from 2007-2017, and was on the Board of Directors for ENMAX from 2010-2017. He has been on the boards of the Federation of Canadian Muncipalities, Attainable Homes Calgary Corporation, the Calgary Folk Music Festival and Ghost River Theatre.

Currently living in Winnipeg, Brian is the Executive Director of Vélo Canada Bikes, a federal not-for-profit corporation established in 2012. The organization consists of representatives from cycling organizations across Canada as well as active transportation and sustainable mobility professionals who have come together for common causes:

• To get more Canadians cycling, be it for transportation, recreation or touring, to get more urban and rural bicycle infrastructure built that enables and supports this; and,
• To facilitate dialogue in Canada on cycling, using science and evidence-based national and international research, benchmarking, best practices and policies.

Each year, the organization hosts a national bike summit, a critical gathering of like-minded individuals and organizations, where they hear from experts, discuss strategy and meet with MPs, Senators and government staff to make change. They also develop policy, conduct research, connect with the country through media and work hard to create capacity for the tens of thousands of passionate organizations across Canada that care about making cycling better. Currently, they are working on the establishment of a National Cycling Strategy and the establishment of a National Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Fund
