Mini Forest Citizen Science Volunteer Training 

The Citizen Science project seeks to involve citizens in contributing to the monitoring and stewardship of our Mini Forest projects. Volunteers will be trained in monitoring protocols and will support in engaging Mini Forest communities in monitoring their forests.

Volunteers will be trained to identify various organisms and how to monitor the development of Calgary’s Mini Forests in terms of:

• Plant Growth & Mortality
• Soil Permeability & Flood Management
• Soil Health
• Biodiversity
• Human Interactions

What: Citizen Science Mini Forest Monitoring Training
When: Saturday July 12, 10AM-12PM
Where: CCSL mini forest (4411 Manitoba Rd SE). We will have access to the building as well as to the mini forest
