Calgary City Council is making it's annual adjustments to Service Plans and Budgets in November 2023. This process includes public comment, which is a fantastic opportunity for the Hub to gather Calgarians to voice their concerns on local climate issues.
This year, our focus is Calgary's Active Transportation Network - also known as the 5A Network.
A year ago, at Budget Week 2022, the Hub mobilized individuals to speak on increasing municipal investment in climate infrastructure including the 5A Network. As a result, an additional $40 Million in additional spending was announced by the City, thanks to the voices and perspectives raised by Calgarians just like you.
But there is more work to be done. The budget adjustment process is an opportunity to turn up the volume at City Council, making sure that they hear the message loud and clear - we need greater investment in the 5A network, and Calgary will be a better city because of it.
