What does it mean to create another world?
The Climate Justice Collective is calling out to local artists, creators, thinkers, and doers in Calgary to showcase their experiences, feelings, and ideas connected to climate justice!
This art showcase invites us to think about our own relationship with the changing and worsening climate crisis, how it impacts us and our communities, and what possibilities lie ahead.
We welcome work that speaks to climate justice ideas including, but not limited to:
- Mental health, climate anxiety, and grief
- Decolonization and Indigenous knowledge systems
- Procedural and restorative justice
- Water stewardship and protection
- Affordable and climate resilient housing
- Tree equity and nature based solutions
- Public transportation
- Labour, just transition
- Renewable energy sources and infrastructure
We encourage you to express yourself through various creative art forms such as song, dance, poetry, literature, digital media, photography, film, theatre, comedy, architecture, sculpture, paint, sketches and more. Artists can sign up to share their art via this this google form. The event will start at 7 PM, provide time for each artist to present their art, and include a short intermission break. We can’t wait to see what you create!
This is a free, inclusive, respectful, non-partisan, and family-friendly event open to the public- whether you want to present, perform, watch or support. No experience with presenting or performing necessary.
