Community Film Screening

We were delighted to host a community film screening of Sh*t We Believed, a short film produced by the Arusha Centre that highlighted climate activism in Calgary. The film screening was followed by a Q&A discussion with local changemakers: Michelle Thrush, Emilia from Black Eco Bloom, and Adesuwa of Land of Dreams.

Wrapping up our summer series of climate justice gatherings, we learned about the importance of building mutual aid networks of care, and the numerous projects across Calgary that work towards this.

We are grateful to journalists at the Reflector for sharing this wonderful piece about the event and program.

Conversations and connections have flourished through this summer at the Calgary Climate Hub. We are excited to see the climate justice community growing and blossoming. Look out for more gatherings and happenings into the Fall and get in touch with Sophie if you want to learn or share more or take part in the climate justice working group: [email protected]

With thanks to Catherine Donnolly Foundation and Building Connected Communities project for funding this program.
