As energy demand explodes, electricity costs soar, and communities bear the brunt of climate impacts, we need leaders who will pave the way to a clean energy future.
That’s why from June 1–7, we are participating in a Global Week of Action organized by Climate Reality Project, calling on mayors worldwide to bring cheap, clean energy to our communities.
Join us out front of city hall at 11 am on June 1st, where we will deliver a letter to Mayor Farkas, encouraging council to advance energy security and affordability in Calgary. This will include a specific request to support plug-in-solar. This accessible method of energy generation supports renters and high rise tenants to offset their energy costs and increase energy security, and is a Calgary Climate Hub municipal campaign priority. Learn more about it here: https://pluginsolarpower.ca/
Please note that photos will be taken during this event and may be used for promotional purposes by the Calgary Climate Hub, Climate Reality Project, and Climate Reality Project Canada
This day of action also coincides with the first day of Calgary Climate Week, and so what better time to support the transition to renewable energy, and enhanced community resilience in our city.
We hope you will join us and share this important message with our elected officials!
