Have you wanted to talk more about climate change? Talking about it – raising awareness, sharing concerns, exploring options and solutions – is one of the most important things we can do! However, getting the conversation started isn’t always easy. That’s why we’re launching Calgary Climate Hub’s Kitchen Table Climate Conversation (KTCC) initiative.

KTCCs are welcoming and structured conversations. They require hosts to invite people they know to the table and facilitators who lead the group in a purposeful discussion. You could fill one or both roles or work with a buddy!

KTCCs benefit from an overall conversational flow that leaves people feeling empowered and connected. Join us for an annotated version – a run through that includes:

  • brief presentations by KTCC volunteers
  • space to voice experiences, feelings and concerns
  • interactive idea-sharing and envisioning
  • potential actions and solutions – including holding your own KTCC!
  • tips throughout, for holding a conversation of your own

Whether you’re simply curious or more than ready to get started, you’re welcome at the virtual table. Come help us get the conversation started!

Facilitator
Colleen Lynch is a writer and an organizer with grassroots climate justice groups in Ontario. She has a background in event planning, design and poetry. For the past several years, she’s worked with ClimateFast and the Kitchen Table Climate Conversation team.

Building the KTCCs involved resource-creation, training and workshopping. One of the best parts though, is hearing about and supporting peoples’ ongoing KTCCs – from art show fundraisers to rotary club presentations. She’s excited to help launch these conversations in Calgary.

Will you come?
