The Tree Party is back for its second year and you are invited!
The Tree Party is a springtime gathering that showcases and celebrates urban greening projects with an emphasis on building citizen-led initiatives. Presented by the Women Who Get Stuff Done in collaboration with Calgary Climate Hub and Calgary Central Public Library. Please RSVP here.
This year's Tree Party marks Calgary's first ever "Bloom", a Plant Baby Plant community activation that turns inspiration into action.
Robin Wall Kimmerer will give a video welcome to the event and to the Plant Baby Plant movement, sharing its message of joy and reciprocity.
You are invited to come and listen to inspiring talks from changemakers, connect at fun hands-on creative workshops for all and engage in deep dive talks from a range of experts.
We are excited to present keynote speakers Erna Buffie, Indigenous Climate Action, Dr Ken Fry, Catherine Hamel and Saddiq Mohiuddin alongside a packed lineup of sessions to deep dive on themes from community building to nature clubs for kids, and composting to rainwater harvesting.
Crown making, seed ball making and tree painting fun for kids, as well as lots of information booths to learn more about urban greening initiatives in Calgary!
This event is free and all are welcome || The space is accessible
Plant Baby Plant is a new grassroots movement led by author, scientist, and Indigenous teacher Robin Wall Kimmerer. We invite people to heal land, build community, and grow power through tangible acts of care for the living world. With a call to action to “raise a garden and raise a ruckus”, we mobilize neighbors, schools, and organizations to reimagine a shared future rooted in reciprocity.
