• Do you love getting people together? Do you have great ideas for how to host events in these pandemic times? Help organize social events or online webinars that are not part of regular Hub programming, e.g., Earth Hour, Earth Day, election-related events. Follow all social distancing guidelines for outdoor, in-person events, and best practices for online events.

    NOTE: The Hub is endorsing outdoor, in-person events as long as participants are fully vaccinated and all COVID-19 protocols are followed, including masking.

    Qualifications:

    • Creativity
    • Attention to detail
    • Ability to schedule / organize logistics
    • Previous event organizing experience an asset.
    • Strong Zoom skills - managing break out rooms, etc.

    Time Commitment:

    • 5-10 hrs/month
  • Do you live for social media? Do you enjoy engaging in clever and respectful conversations on social platforms? Are you one with the hashtags? The Hub is seeking two volunteers to manage our Twitter and LinkedIn channels. Previous experience an asset for either channel. Great written English is also an asset. 

    Join our communications team and help us spread the word about all things Climate Hub. If you are applying for Twitter, please mention your twitter handle, and any handles you work with. 

    Time Commitment: 1-3 hours/ week

  • Do you enjoy grant writing? Connecting with granting organizations and raising $ for great climate related projects in the city? Join our fundraising team. 

    Specific tasks will include researching grant opportunities, writing grants and developing budgets, developing and updating a sponsorship package, drafting MOUs for sponsors, and helping to plan and implement fundraising campaigns. Here is the link to the full Job Description.

  • We are looking for a Fundraising Co-Chair who is passionate about raising funds for climate projects in the city.  Specific tasks will include managing team volunteers and delegating tasks, sharing key messages/information and ensuring they are distributed to the Hub and/or public in a timely manner, and preparing for and officiating meetings. This role will work in coordination with the other co-chair to ensure the Fundraising team is operating efficiently and is structured properly.

  • As a campaign volunteer, you will work on researching and advocating for specific actions related to our current campaigns. You might look into the nitty-gritty of City policy, research how other jurisdictions are solving similar problems, write a post for our blog, meet with City Councillors or members of Administration, make presentations to City Council, or show up outside City Hall to demonstrate support for a Hub position. Campaign Nodes usually meet once a month during the planning phase, and more often during an action.

    Time Commitment: 3-5 hrs/month
